Our Vision
When I started in the industry, I did not know what to expect. I also had a dream of working in the bush because I liked animals and nature as a whole. I asked around but their was no person that really could tell me which direction to go in. According to everyone else their was no future for anyone in conservation and as far as field guiding goes, one could always enjoy it for a while but you will never make enough money to support a family.
If I only knew then what a know now, I would have approached things differently. The question that one should ask yourself when going into this direction is: DO I WANT TO DO IT FOR FUN or DO I WANT TO MAKE A CARREER OUR OF THIS?
One can make money in this industry but you have to realise that it will take time, dedication, hard work and a never ending enthusiasm. By becoming just a conservationist, or only a field guide, or only a professional hunter, or a wild life photographer takes even more time. That is why we are doing all in one over a period of 4 years.
When you enrol with us, you are becoming a conservationist, professional field guide, professional hunter and wildlife photographer all in one. The best is you are doing this while enjoying it and picking up valuable practical as well as theoretical knowledge. You do not sit every day in lectures, but you do get days of it where you will spend time in the lecture room. We base our education on discussing the theory and then doing it in practice. Most employers will tell you that only the theory will not get you a job, they want to see you doing it practically. You must be able to plan and set up fences yourself, build with brigs, lay foundations, fix boreholes, fix broken vehicles, do erosion control or bush clearing, do the electricity, manage staff and many many things more.
We teach you all of this in a secure environment were faults can still be made without a boss climbing do you through and wanting to fire you.
We therefore say, that after 4 years with us, you will be a professional that can make some money to support your family one day while having the best thing of all, JOB SATISFACTION.
Ons Toekomsblik
Toe ek in hierdie bedryf begin het, het ek nie geweet wat om te verwag nie. Ek het ook ‘n droom gehad om in the bos te werk want ek het van diere en die algemene natuur gehou. Ek het rond gevra maar niemand kon my goeie raad gee nie. Volgens almal was daar geen toekoms in natuurbewaring nie en so ver dit as a veldgids gaan kon jy dit altyd doen vir ‘n rukkie maar sou ek nooit vir ‘n gesin kon sorg nie.
As ek maar net toe geweet het wat ek nou weet, het ek alles anders benader. Die groot vraag wat jy jouself moet afvrae, is: WIL EK DIT DOEN VIR DIE GENOT of WIL EK ‘N BEROEP DAARVAN MAAK?
Mens kan wel geld maak in die bedryf maar dan moet jy besef dat dit tyd, dedikasie, harde werk, and ‘n nimmereindigende entoesiasme gaan verg. Deur om net ‘n natuurbewaarder, veldgids, professinele jagter of natuurlewe fotograaf to word gaan baie meer tyd neem. Dit is waarom ons alles in een oor ‘n periode van 4 jaar doen.
Wanneer jy by ons inskryf word jy ‘n natuurbewaarder, profesionele veldgids, professionele jagter en natuurlewe fotograaf, alles in een. Die beste is dat jy dit doen terwyl jy dit geniet en terwyl jy waardevolle praktiese sowel as teoretiese ondervinding opdoen. Jy sit nie heeldag in lesings nie maar daar is dae wat dit jou voorland sal wees. Ons basseer ons opleiding daarop deur vir jou die teorie te leer en dan dit in die praktyk op die proef te stel. Jy moet kan beplan hoe om drade te span en dit dan self kan doen, hoe om met stene te kan bou, fondasies te kan lê, boorgate regmaak, gebreekte voetuie kan regmaak, erosie te kan bekam, ontbossing te doen, elktrisiteit te kan lê, hoe om werkers te kan bestuur en nog vele vele meer.
Ons leer jou al hirdie dinge in ‘n velige omgewing waar jy steeds foute kan maak sonder om deur die baas veskree te word of afgedank te word nie.
Ons sê daarmee dat na 4 jaar saam met ons, sal jy professioneel wees in wat jy doen sodat jy genoeg geld kaan maak om na jou gesin om te sien, en die beste van als is, jy kry WERKSBEVREDEGING.
